Shaun Palmer & Jimmy Lewis top the field at Monster Energy MX ...

CORONA, Calif., (June 2, 2009) - In a high octane gathering of some of the world's top action sports stars who share the same passion for the rip-roarin' sport of motocross, legendary snow/skate/bike/auto athlete Shaun Palmer proved again he's the fastest of them all as he successfully defended his 2008 crown at the 9th annual Monster Energy MX Crossover @ Hangtown, featuring the Java Monster Media Throw Down - and sponsored by Nordica Ski Co,  Dunlop Tire, Alien Workshop, Spy Optic, Throttle Jockey/Graphics Lab, Skullcandy, Nitro Circus and Imperial Motion.

Palmer, who's backed by Monster Energy for his snowboard racing, was dominant in both motos at the pro MX track just outside Sacramento, pulling the holeshot and winning the opening moto, then tracking down BMXer Aaron Cooke (who holeshot the second moto) early and cruising to a seemingly effortless 1-1 finish against a field of pro skiers, snowboarders, skateboarders, BMX and MTB riders and numerous

The 41st running of the Hangtown Classic was off for the 250 class. Both Moto1 and Moto2 found a handful of racers at the front pack fighting their way to the top slot. It was Kawasaki/Monster Energy Kawasaki Christophe Pourcel taking a 1-3 for Over all. Ryan Dungey had a bad start in Moto1 finishing 7th and going on to dominate Moto2 with a 22 second lead over Geico Powersports Honda Trey Canard.

Moto1 found Geico Powersports Honda Justin Barcia, chasing Pourcel for the entire race, just +0.840 gaped the two racers. With New commer Tyla Rattray and Bret Metcalf battling over 4th, Ryan Dungey was slowly charging toward the lead pack. Dungey settled for 7th in Moto1 as Pourcel and Barcia rode a blistering pace. Moto1 was not going to be the Dungey Pourcel battle as everyone expected. Instead it was Pourcel and Barcia with some outstanding riding keeping the fans cheering. Attachment 884Moto2 saw Ryan Dungey with a commanding 22 second lead over Canard, leaving Pourcel to battle Canard for the second spot on the podium. with just two tenths of a second between the two, it was Canard who took the second step on the podium. A disappointing moto2 for Pourcel as he pointed out in the aftermath, but Canard was on his game. RESULTS 250 Class
